Welcome to the marvelous 6 – day safari that will take you to the Switzerland of Africa in Kabale district. The tour will reward you with an opportunity to trek the gorillas in two national parks and those are Bwindi national park and Mgahinga national park. You will also visit the lake Bunyonyi in Kabale with beautiful islands and resorts as you take sun bathing. The tour will reward you with the most memorable experience in the Pearl of Africa–Uganda.

Itineraries

Day 1

Transfer from Kampala to Mgahinga NP

On the arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be welcomed and be briefed by our tour driver
guide who will transfer you to Mgahinga national park a journey taking 8-9 hours’ drive.
You will have several stopovers while on the way but the major ones will be two; that is

to say one at the Uganda equator in Kayabwe for experiment and souvenir buying and the
second at Igongo country hotel for lunch and Ankole-Kigezi museum tour.
Later proceed to the park as you enjoy the beautiful view of terraced Kigezi highlands.
Arrive late in the evening for dinner and overnight at the booked accommodation facility.
This will be the end of day one.

Day 2

Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga NP and cultural encounter

Start the second day with a heavy breakfast and transfer to the headquarters for briefing
about the rules to follow while trekking the mountain gorillas. This can take around
40minutes, you should note that flash lights are not allowed while trekking. Enter the
forest with a guidance of a ranger guide to search for the great apes.
Trekking requires someone who is physically fit because it involves hiking and moving
long distances. After locating them, you will be allowed to be with them for only an hour
and later trek back for mid breakfast. In the afternoon, visit the Batwa community for a
great experience in artwork and traditional dance.

Day 3

Transfer to Bwindi national park

Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park after breakfast a journey taking 3hours.
The park is famous for harbouring the remaining endangered mountain gorillas in
Virunga conservative area. This journey is full of amazing scenery.
On arrival, you can take any of the following activities bird watching, hiking, forest
walks, and community tours among others.

Day 4

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi national park and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, our guide will drive you to the park headquarters for registration and also
to receive short briefings about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. After, follow
the ranger guide to begin the gorilla tracking experience. The activity can take from an
hour to eight hours therefore a reasonable degree of fitness is needs as well as tracking
gears like sturdy pair of walking shoes, long sleeved shirts and blouses.
You are strictly allowed only one hour with these giants while taking photography as well
as studding their behaviours. Get back to the lodge for lunch after a massive gorilla trek
experience.

The driver guide will transfer you to Lake Bunyonyi after lunch. The journey will take
approximately 4 hours. Lake Bunyonyi is the deepest lake in Uganda and is home to very
many small birds which feed and leave on the lake.

Day 5

Canoeing and visiting the 27 islands

In the morning after breakfast, we will take a boat ride around the lake, the canoe ride
offers a fantastic view of diverse bird species such as the egrets, king fisher and much
more. It will also give us a chance to visit some of the 27 islands, each with a different
history.

Day 6

Transfer to Kampala and a stopover at the equator

Transfer to the capital city of Uganda Kampala with a long day road trip via Mbarara-
Masaka road and stopping at Uganda equator in Kayabwe for experiment, photography,
craft shopping and lunch. Proceed with the journey later and you will be dropped either at
the hotel in Kampala or at the airport in Entebbe.
